Erica Gimson

An Atlanta native who spent countless hours as a child combing the Lakewood Fairgrounds Flea Market with her mother, Erica brings her passion for antique textiles, nature and art into her original designs. Erica studied Fine Arts and Textile Design at East Carolina University before starting her career in print design for a textile manufacturer based in North Carolina. This job was the perfect vehicle for Erica’s introduction to textile manufacturing and production processes. The knowledge she gained in this environment continues to inform her work and creative process to this day.

In search of more creative opportunities, Erica then moved to New York City, where she spent 15 years developing and directing home décor and bedding collections for major retailers including Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s. Now back in North Carolina where her professional journey began, Erica is making her mark on the area’s celebrated and innovative textile industry.

Marrying the thoughtfulness of an artist with the technical know-how of small- and large-scale manufacturing, Raleigh-based textile designer Erica Gimson brings a refined approach to her independent design studio. From one-of-a-kind commissions to commercial applications, Erica’s eclectic designs reflect her global influences and many years of industry experience.
